SESSION INFORMATION: CREATING CHARACTER FILLED PORTRAITS OF OUR FURRY FRIENDS
Photo sessions are held on weekdays or on weekends, in the late afternoon for softer and warmer sun. Sessions can also be held during the day and will be at one set location (around Concord area). I shoot on-location at set parks, beaches, rivers, bushland and your home/backyard. You will be sent a location guide of 12+ locations or can request prior to booking (see more below).
Generally sessions require to be booked 2 weeks in advance. If you require sooner or for unwell pets, please get into contact with me and we'll try to fit you in at the next available time. Additional fees may apply.
Each session takes around 90 minutes and during that time I will take a series of pet portrait images to capture their unique personalities and some lovely moments with you all together. I take the time during my sessions to build a connection with your pet, make them feel at ease and free to express their true joy!
STEP 1 - BOOKING YOUR SESSION
Email me or fill out the Booking Form for a Full Prints Guide and detailed session email. I will get back to you shortly to confirm the details. Once we have settled on a date, we’ll complete the booking process online.
Dates and times will be secured when a session fee is taken and the photography contract is signed. Lastly, your booking involves completing a questionnaire. This is where you get to tell me all about your pet’s appearance, personality, quirks and what you are after from the session.
When your booking has been confirmed, I’ll send through my Session Preparation Guide which outlines how to prepare yourself and your pet for the big day, helping our session run as smoothly as possible.
DECIDING ON A LOCATION
You will be sent a location guide full of the best locations in Sydney to choose from! Think stunning views, lovely bush and picturesque beaches! You can also choose your own location/backyard if you would like (additional fees may apply).
If your dog is reasonably confident in new places, let’s head somewhere different. Beautiful or interesting locations enhance the final look of your images, so picturesque spots such as natural parks, beaches, rivers or bushland areas are well worth utilizing.If your pet requires a quiet location and are dog or people reactive, not to worry, there are many to choose from as well!
I take the time during my sessions to build a connection with your pet, make them feel at ease and free to express their true joy!
STEP 2 - YOUR SESSION: DOG PHOTO SESSION
Let the fun begin! This means treats, playing, exploring and cuddles!
The session will begin with a short walk and some friendly interactions with your dog to get them warmed up to me and my camera.
I will work with your dog to capture their unique character and follow their interactions to capture them having fun and being…well, them! During the session, I’ll create some fun action shots, beautiful pawtraits and natural candid moments. My goal is to capture that special bond between you and your dog.
If your dog is very energetic and active, we can start off with some fun action shots, playing and running around. Then we can progress into some pawtraits! If your dog is shy, we can sit around and talk and give them more time to make sure they are comfortable with me being there before I start photographing.
Have fun, be natural and enjoy playing with your dog! I will require your assistance at times and I will let you know where I need you to be and if there is something specific I need you to do.
“My dog isn’t good off lead”Not to worry, safety comes first. I can’t let my own dog off lead much either. Leads can be removed in digital post production…and you’ll never know it was even there! We can also use longer leads for action shots! However, I do ask for no harnesses as they are difficult to remove in post-production.
“My dog doesn’t stand still”Don’t worry if your dog is full of energy and can’t sit still! I aim to capture them having fun and being them! We can use a few tricks to get them where we want them in a shot and have also family member hold them on a lead out of frame to get some pawtraits.
STEP 2 - YOUR SESSION: CAT PHOTO SESSION
Let the fun begin! This also means treats, playing and cuddles!
These sessions will take place in your home, either indoors or outdoors in your back yard or on your balcony. They are designed around your cat and their personality. The session will begin with me getting to know your cat and interacting with them.
I will work with your cat to capture their unique character and follow their interactions and capture their character going at their pace! During the session, we’ll capture those pounces, their determination, create some posed pawtraits and natural snap some candid moments. My aim is to capture that special bond between you and your cat.
Your roleHave fun, be natural and enjoy playing with your cat! I will require your assistance at times and I will let you know where I need you to be and if there is something specific I need you to do.
STEP 3: PICK YOUR FAVOURITES AND FALL IN LOVE
About two weeks after your photo session, we’ll schedule in a date to meet online for your purchasing appointment. Here is where you see your best images professionally edited from our fun afternoon session. There will be lots of ooh’ing and aww’ing while you flick through your images at your leisure!
You will be able to see all my high quality prints and products to help create the perfect combination of products that suits you. There are hundreds of print and product combinations available, so plenty to choose from and I will help guide you.
